Hey ev' body,
I have a Hercules RMX and a MacMini (10.4). What is the best software to use for making .mp3 files from my wax?
I bought a copy of Traktor, but I want to keep that on my MacBookPro to use portably. Besides, the process seems laborious: (1)Rip to .wav in traktor (2)rename files in finder (3)convert to .mp3 w/[otherprogram] (4)update ID3 w/[yetanotherprogram].
(and then load in to traktor and grid them all ... but that's another discussion)
I would really like to do all that with one program ... is that possible?
What are other people's processes for doing this? Certainly I'm not the first...

Seconded, audacity is the best free recording program out there IMO.

Easy to use and free. Cant go wrong there.

Cant you record them straight into traktor ? i know its not ideal but it does the job doesnt it?

that would really overcomplicate things...
You would have to input your TT to one of the inputs, then set that deck to audio thru - then record the set through the mix record function, which would split it up into 6.29 sections.
Just use audacity
and your soundcard. So much easier

itīs free and very good imo and it doesnīt require an installation, you just start the .exe - cpu load isnīt a problem either....and vst and asio. french peeps can use it also
this one is also recommended, unfortunally it only records into mp3 format directly wich can be a plus, since you donīt have to convert - on the other hand you wonīt have a hi q wav version...
