Get into the mappings and learn how they work, then expand them to do what YOU want to be able to do - not what the pre-made mappings limit you to being able to do.
I'm well aware of this portion of it but like xtian said below me, many promises are quite empty. But I make my mappings for controllers, I have been investing time, but it's just an expectation I would have from the site. Am I in anyway degrading the site, FUCK no. I love the site, the blog and the store and the help I've gotten and the tech support! no disrespect to you either patch, just opinion!

Can't wait to see what will be in the new mapping that are DJTT mappers cooking for newborn MF. I'm frequently on stepping up instant gratification effects mapping myself combined with new macro effects that I'll provide for new toy that's on my way. I'll share those mappings for free once they're all done. In fact, I put a lot of time to update IGz and already got three versions keeping the masher row and adding other effects and supercombos to it.

I agree with Patch - people should get more in to mappings and suit them to their own workflow and stop waiting for them to fall of the sky.

Looking at things from a business standpoint, I can sort of see both sides of this. DJTT should be making good on updating mappings on some sort of 'reasonable' schedule. Good products become known for the organizations that make them, as well as the 'support' and experience that is given for those products. On the flip side I do see how you can keep things moving (from a business) standpoint) by hyping your new products and influencing users to purchase them, etc.

That being said, I'm a newbie to DJTT but not a newbie to music creation/production. I produce music (my DJing days are over), and I was attracted by the Midi Fighters when I stumbled upon them, online. For those who are full time DJs, or make a living doing it, I think it's awesome (and probably necessary) to work at, learn, and perfect the art of mapping. THose of us who do this as a hobby, or recreationally, might want the support of pre-made mappings, prior to trying it on their own.

When people decide to buy a MF, they see the videos, threads, adverts of how it's 'supposed' to work. Unfortunately, even if the mapping was stable when the video was made, that's not necessarily the case any more (because of updates to Traktor). Instead- they get their brand new MF home, hook it up to the latest version of Traktor, and it doesn't end up working as advertised. People are left feeling slighted.
We can't necessarily expect DJTT to come up with (and support) those crazy complicated all-in-one mappings that will fold your laundry and give you a reach-around while firing off a 12 FX supercombo like the gurus on here. However, people should at least get the basic functionality of the product as advertised....without having to do hours of research to make it work.

Before I get flamed, I am NOT dogging DJTT. What they're doing for the scene/industry is unparalleled. No one else is advancing the technology side of EDM like these guys. They are responsible for thousands of DJ's making a paycheck doing what they love and big part of the reason companies like NI and Ableton are making $$. Not to mention all of the vinyl heads being re-inspired (myself included) to progress their craft well beyond was what possible 5-10yrs ago.
I just think they need to take a step back and either stop promising to fully support/update their 'way cool' mappings, or start living up to those promises....even if that means charging people for them.

I think in the time you took writing that post you could have learned something about mapping. Study mapping for 10mins a day and in a week you'll be making your own.
