Great thread, and great work! I just bought a pair of (almost) mint 1210 MK2s, and I'm very happy with them. Would like to find some cheap 1200s as well for a good price, that need some work - so I can learn more about those great tables, and do some DIY (I love DIY, as you say - it's rewarding)

And another year has passed...time for an update

After moving to the new house, life has been good. We've been blessed with another baby (nr 3) and changed jobs last year, after being a consultant for more then 10 years.

Having a big family, has limited my free time but i'm a lot @home now and my home studio gets a the available free time.
So i've been buying, repairing and selling a lot of gear and receiving more and more 12x0's from friends & others to refurb/repair.

The Rodec rotary project is 'on hold' since the mono alps blue velvets I bought have reversed resistance.
Still looking for replacement pots.

My personal 'want' list is kinda short so I didn't buy much new stuff for the studio.

Still looking for a nice speaker processor (xilica or XTA).

I'm very happy to still own a lot (11!) of 12x0's in perfect condition, besides the fact that they all went up in value...buying parts has become difficult.

Since the beginning of this thread (2012), the price of technics part have gone crazy.
Also, several items can not be ordered (start/stop knob, on/off knobs + housing, needle lamp ornament, black tone arms, black pitch decals).

Refurbing 12x0's has become expensive, I've build a nice stock of parts (value +1K) and not sure if I will keep using my parts to repair and refurb TT's that are not mine.
I hope those obselete parts will become live again or else the future doesn't look good for the 1200's users...

On the DIY & second hand market, my attention has shifted to auctions...and has been profitable
Personal buys last year were 3 Crest Pro 8200's (600 euro for 3), 1 Macrotech 2401 mint in box (190 euro) and a new RCF JF590z (210 euro, retail was 10x that )
