Default How much truth lies in this EDM music parody?

    Hey guys,

I just found this video, gave it to Phil Morse @ digitaldjtips and he put it on the FB page. Now that I've seen some reactions over there, I was wondering, what the DJTT-community has to say about it.

And before anyone asks: I'm not paid for posting this vid, I'm really curious, because I somehow feel the same like the way it's being parodied. I can't really differ anymore whose track's just being played, since a lot of them use the same techniques.

So what do you have to say about this parody? How much truth lies behind this parody?

It's pretty true for a lot of the cheese house and top 40 edm, but there's always more than what's on the surface for any genre of music. As for these guys, they're just not funny. Their other videos aren't funny either.

100% accurate and I blame the death of Raves for making this video the ubiquitous truth of all clubs and club music.

Thus must have been filmed in Dubai, lol. Just needs more popped collar douche baggery, ferarri caps and aviators. Funny.

    Absolutely hilarious at 1:06 & 2:29!!!

But the video is ABSOLUTELY true. Anyone starting out would do well to write out the lyrics, and learn them as a lesson in how to make the kind of CRAP that is passing as dance music these days.

If you wanna make dance music that sounds like pop, DON'T listen to acts like Masters at Work/Orbital/Underworld/Leftfield (LEFTFIELD!!! Go and buy Rhythm & Stealth NOW!!!)/Hybrid/BT (DEFINITELY buy Movement in Still Life!).

But I'd suggest that you DO listen to these acts.
    DJ'ing: 2x1200MK2, DJM 850, Dicers, F1, Zomo MC-1000, Sony MDR-v700, i7 Win 10 HP Envy
Production: Ableton Live 8 and a mouse, Sennheiser HD400, Sony VAIO

If you feel there is any truth to that vid then you need to listen to some different music and go to a different club.
