    That's a good start. I hope you have aspirations to learn music theory, as it makes you 10000x better at producing music. It's not mandatory (Jimi Hendrix didn't know a lick about theory), but only a handful of musicians can make great music without knowing theory, and those people are just gifted.

    do plan on taking a few courses in the near future..
