    Default HigherFi's Setup

I've really enjoyed having a look at all of your setups. I don't have any images of my setup history, so I thought I'd start a build thread on my new one. I'm re-tasking my random junk/drum room to be a more permanent practice/production space. All of the counter tops in the space are cantilevered off the walls via adjustable bracketry and work surface supports. There will be base and upper cabinets, however, I need to use the space a little before I commit to the sawdust. Rather go slow than do it twice.

These first images are the "core" of the corner/short segment to what will become an L shaped counter top. This segment will keep a pair of Techs and a 1600 mixer nice and flush to the surface. You'll notice the setup is offset to the right side. This is to keep the corner (left side) reach to a minimum. Surface will be plastic laminate. There will be a cantilevered surface over this one to hold MASCHINE, X1, F1, etc. Computer monitor will be trimmed and wall-mounted.

I can tell this is going to be very nice indeed. Love the custom builds, just wish I was good at carpentry myself!

Thank you - I wish I was as optimistic. I think I might dry fit everything and play a set or two. I hate to say it, but I'm just not feeling it, at the moment. The build your setup version of writer's block, I suppose.

It's pretty cool when people build their own booths, I wish I had the money and space to do that. So when you have builder's block or just aren't feeling it, think about us who can't do it.... AND DO IT. (and take pics)

Here it is loaded. I hate it. I think I'll sell it all and start over.

    Whats wrong with it?
Just finish it up properly, maybe raise the turntables and mixer a few mm-s and it will look great.

Thanks, this is just a rough fit. When I put the laminate on it, I'll dial in the height 100%.
The problem is I played another set of 3900s on a DB4 last night...
