anyone know of any coloured caps that will fit on my Allen and Heath xone 4D?

my searching came up with mouser selling some caps http://uk.mouser.com/catalog/English/101/GBP/1815.pdf

but i was wondering about the chroma caps from djtt. they are much better colors

im from the uk if that makes a difference?

In the store, Chroma Caps do not seem to be compatible with Xone 4D... Perhaps somebody else gave it a try...
Concerning the sliders, someone ordered slider's caps from the GS mixing board series for the 1D shaped part of the mixer and used spare filter knobs and fader from the A&H DB4.

I have a k2 and a xone22. Because of the way A&H does their knobs on those 2 units, the chroma caps do not line up (the white line on the knob is not accurate). The faders did fit on the 22 but sit a little bit high it looked like.

Id imagine its similar for other products, at least knob-engineering wise.

    Shame they don't fit...
The only way to change the caps is to use replacement ones for other Allen & Heath models.
No third party ones available... Unless maybe those eagle plastic parts ones sold by mouser?
Who is the manufacturer of the chroma caps?

    Do you:

-Dislike the appearance of the 4D?
-Do you crave to express yourself through knob colours?
-Do you regularly visit events where you may accidentally switch 4D's wit other owners?
-or do you dislike the feel of the knobs?

Each may be solvable in different ways.

    no.

    possibly.

there is only me with a 4D and Paul Van Dyk with a custom 3D who I know play trance music.

    no... never played anywhere else.

    l
    no. they are fine.

maybe the answer is that i want something different to keep my setup interesting.

    my setup:
    - Allen&Heath xone : 4D connected to laptop with traktor
    - pair of technics 1200 mk2 turntables with real vinyl or timecodes for traktor
    - iPad with lemur / touchOSC or any other apps
    - tower pc running ableton live
    - novation launchpad.

You could use the spare joystic connector to make a custom controller and put any knob you like on it. Here's mine: http://forum.djtechtools.com/showthread.php?t=64581

    Default modify them to fit?

is it possible to drill out the caps so they are a round push fit? and if the pot stems on the 4D need shortening, then I could easily cut them.
wrap ptfe tape around the stems if they are a bit loose.

    worth trying?

If the caps are round then they won't turn the pots. The pots have flatted stems for this reason.

I don't think the knobs on the A&H are grooved IIRC. It's been a while.

If you cut it, it's gonna loook pretty ghetto IMO.

I see that DJTT has now added to the range of Chroma Caps...
    the 90degree and the encoder.

I'm thinking that these may possibly fit?

They show a shot of an A&H DB mixer on the Chroma Caps page.
So would they fit the 4D? (assuming A&H post stems are the same?

I have tried each of the different 4D caps on the other pot stems, and they fit any pot stem / encoder on the 4D
