I putted myself more into production..
Modular synthesis etc. Not played s4 recently so I sold it
But I miss DJ'ing stuff from time to time and I want buy a new rig
About s4 rather big, not so good quality material.
I think s4 for its size could have more pads etc..
Not specially loved it. I havent touched vci-400 yet but it looks very good quality like.
In djshop seller told me that this vestax is not so good quality as japan build..
I dont know if he was good informed?
I have to ipads, with lemur and this soft is great..specially with controlling effects
(43layout) second one with mashy mapping...its really great but Controlling decks with touch pad
Isnt good for me. I'm almost sure that im my rig I will use one ipad for effects in traktor plus
    Vestax or s2/f1.

If you don't like the s4 you'll probably hate the s2. Btw you can buy the ssx too, seems like a fine controller.

Do you want to use remix deck or not? That makes a huge difference.
DJTT's mapping for VCI is sick. It's probably the best all-in-one controller you can get for now.

Expanding on what i said before,
    i personally think a vci400 + maschine is a far better combo than an s2 + f1.

Since you already have the maschine, it should be a cheaper way to go too.

    MaschR:

The only thing the video doesn't show, is the editing of clips (i.e setting them from one shots to loops) however after owning an f1, i found myself doing them all by mouse click anyway, as i found it easier than the f1's shift, click, hold, scroll, patterns

sorry I think you are right about the mapping for VCI. If you are looking for controller that works straight out of the box then go for the S2+ F1 combo. Tho in this case you can only use three decks (2 regular decks + 1 remix deck).
    Choice is yours!
