Default Traktor X1: Can someone explain me how it works?

I want to know how to use the Traktor x1.
I want to use it as a DJ controller.
What do i have to do? I have to connect it to a mixer in order to use the volume meters and all that?
    Thanks for your help.

Some questions before we can answer your question correctly:

-Are you planning to use it as your only controller?
-Do you have a sound card?
-Do you have already other controllers with sound card?
-How you want to use the x1, "as an additional controller for transport-controls and effects" or "2 decks + mixer" ?

It act's as a stand alone usb controller. It doesn't have any audio in or out. All the audio would come from your Pc. It will let you manipulate tracks, cue up your music, and play with effects.

    hope that helps

^a note on this, you can cue tracks as in you have a button. Without a soundcard, you cannot listen to the incoming track separately.

I suggest a trip over to the NI website and have a look at the product page for the X1. Im pretty sure it tells you what it does and answers your questions.

Plus check out youtube tutorials. The thing is really easy to use though. Everything is labelled and the amount of info on the web is huge
