Default traFiX - DIY FX controller concept

Last year I made a midifighter clone. It works flawless but I barely use it. So, it's a shame to put it aside and I'm thinking about rebuilding it into an FX and loop controller.
I'm thinking about this concept wich fits the case I made for the clone: https://www.dropbox.com/s/91n9tzlqdas4jq8/trafix.pdf
The panel is 145 x 145 mm. What you see is for 2 decks. 3 FX slots each. Loop control and filter control. I also included a VU meter as I really miss this on my picmix controller.

What do you guys think about this concept and layout ?

Me too, the more I look at it :-)
I'll probably do a prototype first and see what it adds to my sets.

Regards to loop size knobs - those might be in the way when you want to hit a button just above it IMO. I'd move a whole bottom row of controls at top of controller but again that's just my preference.

You're right about that. I've been thinking about that too. I'll shuffle a bit with the layout and see what I can come up with.

    Vertical knobs *dislike*

That's the main reason I never even considered buying an X1, but it's YOUR controller built for YOU, so if that's what's most comfortable for you then good luck ^_^
