    Default Calbration problem technics 1210

    So I already calibrated some turntables, but this one still don't want to be calibrated

    The problem is:
    -I had 2 zero positions
    -Putted it on the second zero position
    -Measured the value with a multimeter
    -Putted the pitch back in the middle
    -Turned the potentiometer on the same value as with zero-position 2

    ---> Now instead of having 1 zero-position, I have a zero area (from 0% to +1%)
    The remaining area of the pitch function acts perfectly normal.

    Anyone knows how this problem can be solved?

    Thanks!

    I get that problem a lot when I remove the quartz lock on my ttables...easy fix is to just buy new pitch control units...they are real sensitive and its not worth the time repairing a unit when you can get one brand new for $15...OR you can take apart and clean with DEOX-IT...again, not worth the time

    While that isn't really that bad, it sounds as if the variable resistor in the pitch is shot. Like ATL said, look for a new pitch fader. Cheap and easy to install.

    Did you mess with the resistor under the platter?

    Ok, thanks for the replies! Nope, never touched the resistor. I will probably replace the pitchfader.
