Creating a 'launchpad-like' mapping for ableton on other controllers

Hello everyone,

Let me first introduce myself since this is my first post.
I am a dj/producer from the Netherlands, I've been visiting this site for years and used it as a great resource for usefull tips and information. I produce house/techno-like music, and I have implemented traktor/ableton/maschine in my dj-setup.

Now i've got an issue I have been been struggling with for a while.

In the pas I used a Novation launchpad for triggering clips in ableton, I found this to be an awesome thing about the launchpad, the colored illuminated pads, and browsing trough your liveset using the arrow buttons.

Now I am wondering if it is possible to map another controller just like that for ableton.
I have a Xone K2 controller, and since it has an area of 4x4 red/orange/green illuminated buttons, I thought it would be very usefull to use that as a replacement foor the clip trigging with the launchpad.

I have done a lot of research but I was unable to find any specific information regarding creating a mapping like that.
I figure that the standard mapping function of ableton does not have sufficient functionality regarding the led colors and such, but I was wondering if it would be possible to create a control surface for the Xone K2 controller.

Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction?
Are there any tools available for creating control surfaces for ableton?

If anyone is interested in a script like that, i found this real handy website that allows you to create a script i was talking about quite easily.

It is not yet compatible with ableton live 9 but if you haven't upgaded yet, this might be a solution.

I have created one for Dual Xone K2 with a 8x4 clip trigger grid, i can upload it if anyone is interested.
