Metadata and .wav files in Traktor 2.6.1
If there has already been a thread explaining this feel free to send me in that direction.
I was reading a DJTT article from a little ways back where Ean discussed that .wav was the best quality but didn't store ID3 tags, but the AIFF files would.
I understand all the differences in lossy and lossless files, I'm just curious as to which file will store tags the best or any other recommendations.
Thank you,
All the help from everyone on here has been incredibly valuable

It's not true that wavs don't store tags. They store tags called RIFF (resource interchange file format). They also store the NITR chunks that Traktor writes to store Traktor specific information.
Wavs store standard RIFF info chunks and Traktor NITR chunks, the NITR are proprietary and can only be read by Traktor.
I honestly don't use wavs or aiffs. So i cant help on which to choose.

Thanks
Thank you,
That's very helpful.
Out of curiosity, which file format do you use and why?

MP3 cus I do lots of various styles of music and I need a large collection with me at all times.
Im more than happy with 320mp3s.
If I was playing one genre or could manage with less tunes with me I would probably use Wav.
