vinyl's cdj hook up to a laptop

wutsup G's, im new to the djing and i always wanted to know how dj's be hookin laptops up to viny's and cdj's, i know that you can hook a controller to a laptop but how do you hook up vinyls and cdjs to laptops? i be lookin at setups and i always see cdj's and vinyls hooked up with the laptops..
