    or with AI shelf:

If you get one of tehse stands, you should get these too:

Sometimes the arms that your laptop sits on on the stand can obstruct the fans - these little balls lift your lappy to allow cool air to circulate under it.

Those stands are totally worth it. I have 4 of them. 2 at home and 1 at each of the 2 local clubs i play at weekly.
In fact I left one at another club that got turned into a Chinese restaurant and I left one in the back of a Taxi once when i was pissed after a gig.
So altogether I have bought 6.

I use to be on this bandwagon. But now I prefer stands that travel well, quick setup, and are considerably more sturdy when holding my 2 thousand dollar latop Crane the only way for me now. Thinking about a third one here soon.

Crane stands are way to high for me (5ft 4ins). I tried the foldable Magma stand and it was an atrocious piece of crap.

If i wasnt able to leave my stands at the clubs I play I would get a more portable solution.

As for the 2 grand Mac. Those stands are more than up to the job and the angle and low height makes them very secure when someone knocks the laptop. Probably less likely to topple than a Crane..?

Well my Crane stand has a max height of 13 inches, and is barley 2 inches high when folded... so not exactly sure what Crane stand you speak of.

Because of the Z fold and the dimensions of the arms, thickness of steel, its about 10x sturdier than Two Flat bars with 2 self screwed rods to support sway.

I have knocked many pieces of equipment or seen them knocked off (club goers, other idiots) many times in clubs. I use one in the studio to hold a piece of gear I never touch most of the time but thats about it.

    To each their own.

Im glad most new Laptop makers avoid that... Whoever designs these things putting the exhaust on the bottom instead of the back are giant engineering turds

    IM A DUMB ASS.

I was thinking of the bloody Uber Stand not the Crane Stand.

I stand corrected, of course the Crane is awesome. The Uber stand is too high for me to use comfortably.
