i have no clue to be honesti dlīd the demo and wasnīt to happy about having to register on their site but it looks quite promising so far...i will give it a try for sure.

what may could become interesting is:

"Apparently there is a massive major free update coming out in 3 months that should include things like Beat Detect and Tab to Transient which will be amazing..."

    if thatīs true - good!

Oh man, "ridiculously simple?" If that's true, Studio One is going to be the new FL (and/or GarageBand) of production. (I'm allowed to say that. I only use FL. lol.). I'm kidding.

But I'm definitely willing to give it at shot. The only thing I'd say is that I think unless Studio One is particularly ground breaking, I doubt many people will migrate from their familiar Ableton/FL/etc. enviornments just to try something new. Very new. That hasn't been through years of problem solving... I don't know, I'm just sayin...

i agree, it's gonna take time for it to develop to compete with things like logic, pro tools, etc but it looks like a damn good start.

the fact it has a mastering setup built in is pretty sweet.

Definitely. I guess I'm just overly pessimistic about new things.

Even though I don't know anything at all about mastering, the fact that Studio One promises to "do it all" makes me fearful or a bunch of cookie-cutter productions. Maybe that's just my opinion. Certainly this is a problem in any production software.

All I'm saying is that since they're really trying to make something that does everything, how well-developed are these individual features?

most "producers" in our days just throw some mastering plug on the main bus and then call it "mastered" - they donīt even know what their doinī .... maybe studio one gets people more into the actual process of mastering, dunno?!

although it doesnīt matter peeps; throw izotopes and pspīs all over the place like mentioned above...making music today means also fighting the war of loudness.

i took a further look around, there are 2 versions artist and pro. its essentially the same except the artist version doesnt support VST or AU..
that being said, the pro version is only like 400 USD.. so its still less then ableton.

meh... i don't really get the hype. doesn't look any simpler to use than ableton or the rest.

as far as I can tell "simple" is just code word for "stripped-down" or "limited" lol.
