Default Backup controller or sell it?

Yesterday I got my Pioneer DDJ-SX after fooling around on a Traktor Kontrol S2 for 6-7 months.
I'm going to play on a few parties where I'm getting payed and I wonder what I should do, as I don't know how often a controller breaks.

Should I sell the S2 or always take it with me to gigs in case my DDJ-SX stops working so I have a backup controller and the music doesn't have to stop?

    Thanks for the advise

Switching controllers is unlikely to solve any serious problems you'll encounter running a laptop-based setup.

Rather a back up music source, look at what happened to Ritchie Hawtin.
It's not the gear. It's how you use it.
limitations are the source of creativity.
If you don't practice you don't want it.
