    Default Joypad>Midi controller

I'm seriously considering taking one of these:

    Joypad

and modding it to make a basic midi controller. I'd need AT LEAST 8 buttons (but that looks like it'd be covered - there are 4 buttons on the front of the joypad, and 4 buttons as triggers, and the 4 buttons that make the d-pad).

I'd use a piece of software called MiJOY 3 to convert the HID data to MIDI data. (Check it out here: MiJOY3)

What is the MAX number of controllers you could have with a controller made form JUST one of these joypads? Looks to me (and I MAY be wrong here...) like you could have (max):

12 push buttons (arcade buttons, obviously! )
    2 x/y controllers

BUT - could the X/Y controllers be used as rotary potentiometers? Or could some of the buttons be used as rotary pots???

For the sake of a £4 joypad, and a £20 piece fo software, I'd like to find out what can be built from it...
