Check out Tom Cosm's website. He has made some pretty wikid vids which walk you through the complete writing of a track in ableton. Its ion 6 parts and each is 1hr long. You have to pay $10 per month to be a member but they are downloadable to watch whenever you want. There are some free vids on there to.

Doing traditional turn table style hip hop techniques in Ableton Live is impossible at this stage, if you wanted to get some turntablism techniques you will need rather Traktor Pro/Serato Itch or some other digital vinyl system.

If you just want to do mixes without any fancy turntable techniques Ableton Live is pretty decent, it will allow you to perform your own productions live.

All really depends where you want to take it.

Though there is always the option of doing both at the same time (by piping your audio from Traktor into Ableton) but that should be a long term goal - master rather playing live, or djing first, then try to combine the two.
