    Default CDJ1000 mk 1 vs 3

I'm wanting to switch to CDJ's. I've had a play on 850's cause they are the "lowest" ones I can rent from my local shop, but I'm looking at CDJ1000's. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to pay a significant amount more for Mk3's if I'm not particularly interested in the mp3 CD ability? I can get my hands on two Mk1's for $650 total.

Wondering if there is any other benefit of the MK3's that I have overlooked in my research?

No no. Buy a pair of CDJ-850s. Much better buy, imo, than a pair of CDJ-1000mk3s. You can find a pair of 850s for right under $1000, if you look just right. FWIW, I bought a pair of 850s with travel cases for exactly $1000. It's possible, you just gotta hunt.

That is a steal mate! I will keep my eye open then for sure then. I am still curious though if the MK3's are significantly better than the MK1's?

MK3's have a brighter and higher resolution display, 100% tempo range as opposed to 24% on the MK1s plus adjustable jogwheel tension.

The MK3s are also obviously newer so may be in better condition than MK1s.

850 is awesome due to USB but keep in mind you won't have hotcue's anymore.
