If you're looking at Beats, why spend money on consumer cans when they make pro gear? The Mixrs and Pros are well made, comfortable (if a little heavy) and sound decent.
Also, I second the Urban Ears suggestion. Surprisingly good hardware.

2 pages in and nobody's actually answered or even addressed OP's question. Christ. This thread is a little insane. To actually respond to the question, go with the Q701's. AKG makes great cans, and the 701's are pretty solid, especially considering the circumstances of you getting them. If you're paying with miles, go with the 701's and don't look back.
Seriously. OP only had two options since he had to pay with Sky Miles. People started throwing out random suggestions. No one reads anymore. They just see HEADPHONES and start typing away.
The AKG Q701 are open back, so are no good for DJing. The Beats require batteries and are noisy.
I'd stick with the HDJs.

HD 25s are closed back headphones, which is why they insulate well enough to monitor with. That is the very reason they are so successful.

Oh, wait, I was thinking of on-ear vs over-ear. My mistake.
