Default VST or software to manipulate vocals?

i think everyone heard about how alot of today's popstars can't sing and it's all done by the producer and stuff. all i can say is that they can't be that great if they have to perform to playback on their shows, but what do i know.

i would like to know how much software can help the voice of someone who cannot sing at all (just like me ) to actually sound good. i really like EDM with voice samples on it in all kind of ways. biggest favorite being dancehall artists on breakbeat or dnb tunes.

i would like to start up with just spoken voice samples and have them sound really cool by manipulating the sound of the voice and adding FX. then the next step would be to warp/stretch/keychange my crappy singing to make it sound like i could if that is even possible.

any input on this would be great!
