    A lot of radio stations did/do play music at +2%.

    Broadcast CD players used to have a +2 button which you could just leave on all the time...

    Playing music, especially radio-friendly music like R&B, only at zero or above makes absolute sense to me.

    Clubbers might not even realise that you're playing that deep house cut at -4%, but they'll definitely notice if you do the same with their favourite Beyoncé track. However good your keylock is...

    There's also some science gubbins I heard a long time ago about music sounding slower at louder volumes...

    If I'm just drop mixing (indie music or something), I play everything at +2.

    Makes it sound like the radio, and makes it sound more energetic than the next man playing his tunes at zero.
