    Default Best traktor controller 2014

I know there are other posts about this in the past. But i am just curious as to what people think is now the best controller for traktor. I feel the s4mk2 has a huge amount of issues, and honestly see no worthy improvements over the s4 mk1. Maybe if it actuallly worked with new ipads i could see a benefit. I am trying to figure out what traktor controller to get, I had the numark 4trak, and the traktor s2 mk1. I want it to be somewhat portable, but also good quality. I am actually leaning towards the s4 mk1 maybe I just dont know.

What issues does the S4mk2 have?

The main selling point of the mk2 versus the mk1 is it works with ios or ipads, it does NOT work with ios 7. Which means it can not work with any new ipads, or even any updated ipads. Which is almost all of them now. You can look at a lot of posts where people talk about the mk2 constantly crashes now with newer macbooks too. Just a lot of issues and native instruments has yet to even reply or acknowledge this.

The iOS 7 issue isn't limited to NI from what I've read. Several other MIDI/audio apps recommend staying with iOS 6.

I've heard that it's not recommended to use random s4's on gigs (like ones the club may have) because traktor sometimes simply doesn't recognizes the new s4 and the controller becomes useless. So I ve been told that one should always use the same own S4 to play. Does it happen?

You need to be on Traktor 2.6.4 or newer for the Mk2 to be recognised.

yeah, but, I mean, regardless the versions and etc. I've been told (before mk2 existed) that you should not trust a new controller (in that case, a new, random s4) to use on a gig, because it may simply not work.
Does this happened to anyone? Or anyone heard of it

That goes without saying for all equipment. There shouldn't be an issue with using another controller that's the same model as your own.

I've read through many S4 complaints and have never come across that particular issue.

Apart from a picture of everyones favourite DJ using one (Paris Hilton) I've never seen an S4 in a club. Traktor SP with CDJ's or 1210's yes, but never an S4.

I've seen some clubs that have one, and X1's and etc.
We live very far from each other so, that's no surprise things are different
