Default Yamaha HS7, Adam F7 or recommend me another monitor for dj purpose!

    Hi there,

Since I'm less then half a meter away from my hifi speakers (and don't have more room to position them properly) my ears are blown away and I think that monitor speakers (near field) will sound way better.

So my question, which monitor would you advise (2-300 per speaker max!)?

Also I am able to strecth my budget a bit by only purchasing one monitor and purchase a second later on, Would using just one monitor sound ok/good if I play stereo files thru them? Or will that result in a strange sound?

I'm not planning on a sub since the room I practice in is fairly small and I guess a sub will sound real muddy.

    Thanks in advance!

you wouldnt get stereo from a single monitor, i can say that the hs7 is a lovely monitor and that the adams a7x are nice not sure how the F7 sounds

I understand that you don't get a stereo image from one speaker, but would that mean I miss half the music?

The AX7 is really expensive, someone know the diffrence with the F7 and if it's wordth the $$$?

Oh and my main genre would be Techno, Drumcode mainly (altough not all Drumcode would classify as techno :P).

you wouldnt loose any of the music unless you left the output as stereo and had stuff panned over to the opposite side but within most software to my knowledge it has a mono output setting but id always try to get a stereo pair over one singular monitor

How about a pair of m-audios? The hs7 are pretty harsh in longterm sessions.

    JBL LSR305, or LSR308

They are Awesome, you can usually find them around the same price as RPK's, and they sound way better.

I still stand behind my BX5's... They really pack a punch and sound a lot more full than the Yamaha monitors which to me sound very flat. Adams top both though from my experience.

You do not want monitors like the ones you mentioned for DJing. Those are for producing. They are made to be flat sounding. Get some PA's or something else like QSC.
