creating ultrapitch samples, question!

Anyone have any tips on how to formulate these? I ripped a vinyl playing at +25% and +50% so I can play them back at -25% and -50% and they sound funky, I'm sure it's an issue with doing something with the octaves if I remember correctly


Can anyone shed any light on this? Also perhaps a formula to bring normal 33rpm samples down to a few different percentages (8, 10, 25, 50) perhaps?

What program are you using?

I was recording them into traktor's mix recorder at +50 then playing them back at -50, sounded way too weird haha

I figure I'd have to create my composition in ableton and do some BPM + octave changes to get what I want, I'm just not sure how much to change
