Speaker/audio problems with denon mc3000 & traktor?

Hi all
I'm a noob in the djing world.. , I've been using the denon mc3000 dj controller with traktor for about a month now all working well while I was using computer speakers that were connected to my laptop. I have bought a pair of ekho active RS12A speakers. I have 2 male Xlr to phono/RCA cables, I connect the Xlr end into the input connection of the speaker and the phono end to the un-balanced connection on the denon mc3000. I think I have all the settings right on the traktor but all I get out of the speakers are a humming sound. Please Help? Will be much appreciated.

Connect the speakers to the output and you're good to go.
