S4 in 'external' mode using timecode CDJs. Using S4 as decks C&D.

Outputs A,B,C,D from the Audio 8 go straight into the DJM. You can control any of these decks using the S4.

Ahhh, im having a moment I think. I wont be using the audio interface within the S4. Oops.

I would just use the S4 as though I had a X1 attached. The whole built in interface threw me.

You shouldn't need to do any hacks to use External mixing mode on the S4. Is there no option for External when using the S4 interface?

If you're using the Audio 8 interface you don't need to worry about S4 audio routing guides.

Sure, but why does the hack exist and why/when would you use it?

The page is 4 years old. The hack is for when External mode is not available, but I think NI has made it a standard built-in option now.
