Out within a few months ...
As for price and spec, pretty much exactly what it hopes to replace
Main Gig Comp - MacBook Air 11" 1.3GHz i5, 4GB, 512GB, OS X 10.12.6
Gig Gear - TSP 2.6.8 & 2.11.2, Kontrol X1mk2 (x2), D2 (x2), S5, Xone:92, Xone:PX5, CDJ-2000 (x2), DDJ-XP1 ... Rekordbox DJ 5 with a few packs ...
Plenty of studio gear and not enough time ... and a few Nexo PA systems
Looks like this deck might be being field tested in Ibiza at the moment judging from Subb An's FB page -

I hope it feels the same and is the same quality as the 1200 and is accepted by dj's. Having brand new decks in clubs will be a big plus for the format.
2x Technics sl 1200mk2, Vinyl, Shure m44-7, Xone 22, Audio Technica ATH M50X, Traktor A10, Maschine, Logic X, Ableton Live.
Looks veryyyyyyyyy interesting!
Although you can't tell from the picture I was hoping for some kind of internal control vinyl/ scratch functionality that uses Recordbox. That really would change the game - no more using Traktor scratch/ serato etc and using 3rd party software.
Just plug your USB stick into the back of the turntable and off you go.
If it is just a SL1210/1200 copy then I think I will be keeping my Technics.
Looks nice though.

But the 1210 market is what they are going for surely?
I didn't expect anything other than a '1210 alike'. Even people on this forum perpetuate the myth that 1210's are the best (a myth that I subscribe to). It's a strong message still with the kids.
It's the kids who have the money.
Pio have obviously found a way to produce 1210's cheaply enough to attempt to freeze out the second hand market. Plenty of people are young enough to believe the Pio "industry standard" yarn. They will sell these in enough quantities as to not lose money and they will be happy boasting "we took on the 1210 and won" (if indeed they do sell).
As for "game changer". I can't believe we still talk in those terms after all the products we have seen in the last say 5 years that claim or are built up to be game changers. No-one makes game changers, there's too much money at risk.
Pio aren't ready to lose the Serato partnership yet. There's not going to be a huge surge in Pioneers model that renders them solo.
For the time being they are happy working as the good guys with Serato (unlike the seemingly bad NI) and tinkering with Rekordbox,
If you own Technics already "these are not the droids you're looking for"
As I said if it is just a SL1210/1200 copy then I think I will be keeping my Technics. I am more than happy with them!!
I say game changer because it could remove ALL 3rd party stuff from any scratch setup.
Furthermore, I thought the latest Pio/Serato conglomoration was advertised as the last of that series.

I agree with most of what you're saying Karlos.
This deck will be a 'standard' turntable in the Super OEM vein.
It will sell, though, as Pioneer will ensure they end up in the hands of all the big-name vinyl DJs. They'll also be installed in all the big clubs. Sound engineers and installers are comfortable with the Pioneer brand, so it's an easier decision that throwing in a deck by Stanton or Reloop, regardless of how good their products might be.
As always, bedroom DJs will want the kit their heroes use.
So my guess is that these will sell better than any Super OEM to date. But they won't herald a sudden return to turntable use everywhere; that market will be limited forever more, now.
I can guarantee they won't be cheap though. At least as costly as other Super OEMs, and probably more, because, Pioneer.
