I like Serato, but I agree. It seems silly for me to pay extra for them to fix problem in their software.

Simple, buy an SR and use it with Traktor. Just like I did

if you own cdjs with big pitch controls then either software is fine but if you're starting out and get a cheap controller, you'll just be burned by serato, I'm so glad I already knew how to mix otherwise I'd never have spotted the inadequacies in serato, I'm a bit gutted as I recommended it to a couple of friends and it's just not good enough. Traktor for me every time now.

It's not just the size of the pitch controls, but also the resolution of the fader that matters. With a higer resolution you can get away with smaller faders provided that you are able to work with the small differences. But overall bigger is easier.

of course but shorter faders make it harder to make those fine adjustments even if you have got 14bit faders and most cheap controllers come with short 7bit faders, which are fine for actually using all of that resolution, just that resolution is entirely inadequate.

Shit load of bug fixes - only I've personally noticed is how it doesn't save the size of the waveform between sessions.
    Not a big deal
