Default Which active PA speakers to go for?

    Hi

I want to add a pair of active PA speakers for use in my "party room". The room is about 7m x 20m with normal ceiling height so not huge. I have a pair of ADAMS's for monitoring, but want to add some sound for my friends when we are partying! I am thinking 12" is fine, I would prefer to not get an extra sub if I can help it for space.

    I was thinking (12"):

Also I figured I have 3 ways of putting them in:

    1) Tripod (takes up lots of footprint)
    2) Hang by chains (got to get cables up there)
    3) Wedge them on the floor (this is preferred, but is the sound any good?)

    Any help greatly appreciated.
    My setup: DJM 900 Nexus, Macbook Pro i7. 2.5ghz, 16GB, 1TB SSD 17", 2 x Technic 1210's MK2's, Traktor Scratch Pro v2, 2 x X1's, 2 x Traktor timecode vinyl (mk2) & 2 x ADAM Actives.

The ideal setup would be 2 speakers and a sub. Speakers should be atleast a couple feet off the ground minimum.

For the size of room was hoping a pair of 12"'s would do? If not, any recommendations on a small sub?

I have found these speaker stands that have min footprint: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=330934473928

You could always mount the speakers to the wall...

Have a look at some 15"s (e.g. Yamaha DXR) if you don't want a sub.

QSC K12's, They sound great and they've got a bass boost switch if you're not using them with a sub.
