Mashine MK2 or Abelton Push???

Hallo liebe DJ- Gemeinde

Ich besitze einen Pioneer ddj sx. Diesen Controller verwende ich mit Traktor Pro2.6.
Nun würde ich gerne mein Setup um die Maschine MK2 oder Abelton Push erweitern.
Also ich möchte wie gehabt die Decks in Traktor mit dem Pioneer DDJ SX steuern und zusätzlich Effekte und Beats aus Abelton Live in mein Set einbringen.

Zu „Push“ von Abelton.
Dieser Controller besitzt keinen Midi-Clock-Anschluss, mein „Pioneer DDJ SX“ jedoch auch nicht. Mir ist bewusst, dass man die Synchronisation von Abelton live und Traktor auch mit einem zusätzlichen Programm wie z.B. „LoopBe1“ vornehmen kann (da ich keinen Mac besitze), das habe ich auch bereits hinbekommen. Allerdings würde ich gern wissen ob jemand Erfahrungen damit gemacht hat, ob ein problemloser Workflow mit einem solchen Programm möglich ist, ob sich Latenzen oder andere Probleme bei der Synchronisation von Abelton und Traktor bemerkbar machen?
Oder ist prinzipiell von der Synchronisation über den PC abzuraten und ich muss mir zusätzlich noch einen entsprechenden Mixer etc. zulegen, welcher ein solches Midi-Clocksignal bereitstellt?

Angenommen ich entscheide mich für Push. Ich habe mir bereits Abelton live 9 runtergeladen und es sind auch schon Soundpackete etc. enthalten… gibt es einen Tip wo ich mir weitere Sounds und andere nützliche Packete besorgen könnte?  Und welche Packete sind empfehlenswert?

Der Vorteil an „Maschine MK2“ von Native Instruments ist natürlich, dass schon die erforderliche Software und eine Menge Samples im Preis von ca 580euro enthalten ist. Mit dem entsprechenden Script kann man ja die Maschine auch mit Abelton live verwenden, gibt es hier besondere Einschränkungen gegenüber Push? Könnte ich die Semples und Sounds von Native Instruments (welche bei der Maschine mitgeliefert werden) in Abelton live verwenden?

Mit welchem Controller Maschine oder Push kann man besser die Effekte in live steuern? Ist das bei der Maschine MK2 überhaupt möglich bzw. was gibt es zu beachten?
Kann man auch die Effekte von Abelton live auf die Tracks in Traktor anwenden? Wenn ja wie?


Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn ihr mir bei meinen vielen Fragen behilflich sein könntet!
Ich bin schon eine ganze Weile auf der Suche nach dem richtigen Setup und möchte eine Fehlinvestition möglichst vermeiden.

1. As already written by yourself you can use the internal MIDI-Clock routing. If you have problems with it I'd suggest you look for a tutorial video on YouTube. Since it is not that easy a video can exolain everything much easier, than words. I know there are some good videos by Dubspot. For the latency: Since you already have both softwares (Traktor and Ableton) just try to set everything up correctly - if not done yet - and than use your keyboard to trigger some effects in Ableton Live while using music routed from Traktor. Sou can than just test yourself what the latency will be - at least with your current setup. For the internal routing (not MIDI-clock, but sound) just look at the second Traktor-Ableton tutorial by Dubspot on Youtube. They did a great job with those tutorials.

2. There are tons of free soundpacks out there, but not all of them have a good quality. Sometimes you can find some gems by eg. registering for a newsletter some packs are just free, but ask for donations etc. To make sure that the quality is what you want have a look at the bitrate for MP3s (320kb are ok, I would not use less) or get wav files only. In the end you will also want to listen to them anyways.


3. As far as I know you will be able to run Maschine into Live like a plugin. You will want to use the MIDI mode for Live and the native one for Maschine-Software. Even though I have not tried it, I'm sure you will not be able to use the sound packs of maschine's software directly in Live.

4. Asking if Maschiene is a better solution for Live than the more expensive native Controller is I bit odd. Obviously Push will be the better integrated and even more versatile unit. You can use it not only for sequenzing, but in keys/melody mode and key/melody-sequenzing mode as well. For effect manipulating with Live you will want custom-mappings for the maschiene, push could work without, even though I would not want to stick to it.

I would suggest you to just buy both at the big T-Shop and return the one you want less. Anyways: Have you tried to achive what you aim for with remix decks? Or think about a MIDI-Fighter-Twister. It seems like that is more what you are looking for - not saying that Push and Ableton offer great possibilitiers for live-performance. Maybe I can help you more if you describe what you are looking for a bit more. I would not recommend buying more hard- and software if you have no specific idea of what you even are looking for.
