    It takes more graphical power to drive an additional monitor if that's what you mean. Multiple USB devices will of course drain your battery faster.

    So since I'd have my mac plugged in whilst in "the studio", the batter would be no issue, so the monitor wouldn't slow anything down? and the USB hub will be powered, so no speed loss there?

    USB power has no effect on speed. Monitors should have no effect on audio.
