Default USB Flash Drives and Rekordbox

I have just bought a couple of cdj's and been trying rekord box , I have a 16gb USB that I loaded last night with a couple of playlists to try it out and there were 47 songs in the playlist and it's filled the fully 16gb up . I thought it would have a lot more room as they are all mp3 , what size of USB sticks does everyone use or have a loaded the stick up wrong.

You definitely loaded the stick up wrong somehow. I'm using a 32gb with ~120 different songs and its only used ~1.5gbs. Check the flashdrive for hidden files which may be taking up all your space, if not try formatting the USB drive and trying it again with rekordbox. Also try to use the most current/up-to-date version of rekordbox. There is definitely a problem if 47 songs are taking up the entire 16gb, that shouldn't be happening.

If you have a mac you need to make sure you remove the deleted files from your USB stick from your 'trash' as well.. lot of people don't know about that!

Somehow you have the drive partitioned. Google how to format the drive. If you're on a PC, it's easy. Go to computer view. Right click the USB drive and click format.

    This.

I made the mistake of just plugging my USB's into the Mac and deleting the files assuming they'd then be permanently deleted from the USB, however when I plugged my USB into my car stereo I realised everything was still on there in the .trashes folder.
