Default Question about Rekordbox and CDJ-2000's

So I made my playlist in Rekordbox and I chose Export to my thumbdrive.

    It copied all my files.

So that's it? Now the playlist will pop up on the CDJ's?

Because I don't see the playlist file anywhere in my thumbdrive?

Just trying to make sure all is good.

    thanks.

As long as you exported the Playlist directly by right-clicking it, that's all you need to do. Rekordbox does not export individual files for each playlist.

but where is the file that will tell the CDJ what songs to group together? The playlist info file.

    I guess it just works?

    Thanks for the reply .

    Cheers.

There are many database files present on the USB stick, so playlist info will be stored in one of them.

There is (should be) an invisible folder called "PIONEER", which was created on the USB stick by Rekordbox. If you change your settings in Finder/WindowsExplorer to show invisible folders you can check it (though I never heard there was any problem with that folder not being created).

So it did not work. I had no playlist info. So i had a bunch of folders with artists that's it.

Luckily I made a separate folder and cut and pasted my 90 tracks straight form iTunes. Just in case

I ended up mixing from there. No waveforms and a very inaccurate BPM read.

I should have just brought 2 CD's lol.

What do you mean by a "bunch of folders"? You don't browse folders when using Rekordbox USB sticks.

Did you go to the Playlist node and find no playlists there?

Here's a tutorial on using Rekordbox to prepare and export tracks
And another for browsing on the CDJ
