    Default VCI-100 Faulty / Broken

    Hi there,

So I have a VCI-100 and it is FAB! However on purchasing a new macbook pro I found I only had 2 USB ports, I wanted 3, I therefore plugged in a USB hub and connected my iPod and my VCI-100, then plugged the USB hub into the computer. The USB hub then went bang and released a lot of smoke, thank god both the iPod and computer are fine, however the VCI-100 is not, it does not turn on or light up, even the power LED doesn't work. I have given it to an electrician in Brighton who is looking at the pcb for me. Has anyone got any clues / info / experience in this field? Is it likely it will ever work?

I have since bought a new VCI-100, this one however is not upgraded with firmware, so I might be back for help with getting firmware 1.4 when my serial cable arrives!!

    Thanks alot!

Probably a faulty USB hub or power supply.
