Default Connecting Kontrol Z2 through Serato SL3

    Hi,

I have been trying to search for this topic,
    but couldn't find anything.

    The thing is,
    I used to use SL3,
recently bought Kontrol Z2 as my new mixer,
and I connect it like this

    Connect1:
    Turntable-SL3-Z2

I have tried to use the DVS in Traktor,
and the cue points on Z2 works fine,
but while I put the vinyl on play,
Traktor does not seem to work,
and I can't control the track with vinyl.
Also, when I use a normal Vinyl record,
the record sounds kind of weird(I can still hear the music but it sounds fuzzy...)

    Connect2:
    Turntable-Z2
While connecting Turntable directly to Z2,
I still can't control the track with vinyl,
and the music still sounds weird with normal vinyl record.

    Questions:
1.is it possible to use Z2 as a mixer and use the dvs system in Serato DJ while connecting to SL3?
2.is it possible to connect Z2 through SL3 and control with Traktor?
3.If I connect the turntable directly to Z2, why can't I control the track with the vinyl?

Sorry if I didn't explain clearly because English is not my main language.
    Thanks.

To play regular vinyl or Traktor DVS whilst the SL3 is connected, you'll need to ensure the power supply for the SL3 is connected.

Also, make sure you are connecting the outputs from the SL3 into the Line inputs on the Z2, not the phono inputs; and you'll need to make sure the inputs within the Traktor software are set to Line also.

Your not setting something up right... I would either use the z2 in internal mode with traktor like it's made for or hook up the sl3 like you would with a normal mixer...line one = deck A, line 2 = deck B, line/mic input = deck 3/sampler

I don't see the point of using a mixer made for traktor for Serato BUT if you do you would hook the Serato box up like you would with a normal mixer and map out the Z2 midi options for Serato. You could run deck A/B through line/phono 1/2 and run you 3rd out to you line/mic input on the Z2.

I liked the Z2 but I had a few issues with it like:

    - line fader tension (which I removed)
    - no line fader curve adjustment
    - mic/line input is an either or option so you can't use the mic if you are using the line in
    - you could not use the other inputs while running traktor like you could with a standard mixer

I have my other issues with traktor which I won't go into BUT for me I got the vestax 05 pro 4 and use SL2 now. It has everything I could possibly want/need but a built in interface. Crossfader is adjustable independently on each side and IMO better then the innofader. Plus I can map the 05 to control video in the future

I could see a point of using the Z2 with Serato for that purpose alone but eh line faders still suck
