Question help in understanding values for vumeters and main using clipping

    Recently purchased the s4mk2

Read a lot of articles on the incorrect readings on the s4.

I would like to get a basic understanding of the following in combination

    1. Limiter, should it be enabled..?
    2. Recommended headroom for 2remix + 2track decks
    3. value for Main level in Traktor software
    4. Gain level for the recording for maximum safe pump

I know, all these are mentioned in the manual, but I am really confused about the correct values for each.

    Please let me know

    Thanks

    1. Enable clipping? Clipping isn't something that you "enable", it is something that occurs when your signal is too hot and distortion occurs. Perhaps you're thinking of the "Limiter", which reduces clipping, and whether or not you use it is up to you. Most people like to use it as a fail safe.

sorry for the wrong usage of term. Yes I was referring to Limiter in point 1.

Here is what I am currently using.
Limiter off + auto gain off + no headroom (instead -10db on s/w main) + recorder gain at 0.

anything needs to be updated here ?
