Default Advice on using cdj1000mk3 instead of cdj 350

Hey guys, just a quickie to check that I haven't missed anything major.

I have a gig coming up where the event has been sponsored by a sound company, who are providing 2x CDJ 1000 Mk 3 and a DJM 800.

Usually for this gig, I take my cdj 350s and use Rekordbox USB sticks with a DJM 250 (now Xone: 23), so I have no issue with bringing any of my own gear to supplement things. When I got Rekordbox compatible CDJs, I sacked off using CDs, and now can't find them.

Just interested if you were in my position, would you go through the hassle of burning lots of CDs to use the 1000s (extra features, look better (shouldn't matter, but it does)) and leave my 350s safe at home, or would you bring the 350s to plug into the other 2 channels, and potentially just burn a few songs / acapellas etc. to CD, to give the 1000s some use.

I do not want to take my laptop (as this is a student ball), so Traktor is out of the question.

    In short:

Would you bring 350s or just burn lots of CDs?
    Traktor: Custom 1210s - NI Z2 - F1 - X1
    Rekordbox: CDJ 350s - Xone 23 - Rmx 500
    Production: Ableton - Machine Mk2 - 49 key midi keyboard - KRK 6s

Since the 1000s are Mk3s you can easily fit loads of MP3s onto CDs, so it should only take 2 to 4 discs to store a sizeable playlist.

Maybe bring the 350s if you need a big library on-hand for requests.

Yeah, I'm leaning towards taking them. There is also a DB2 knocking around now. This event has gone from zero equipment, to more than I can handle

It sounds like you have experience with the 1000 MK3s so I'd go with those. You don't have to burn a ton of CDs (I'm assuming like a 3-4 hour event?).

Maybe bring a single CDJ350 to accomodate for USB as makar suggested?

Always go with what you are comfortable with. YOu are doing this because you enjoy it. Why take away from the fun by adding more stress. Just take your 350's and have fun at the ball man.

Very fair point, yeah I reckon I'll just take the 350s so I am covered for all eventualities. I do like using 1000s when I get the chance, purely because they feel so much nicer, but at the moment all my gigs I need to take my own stuff so I don't keep an up to date CD library.

Just waiting for my grad job to kick in so I can sell the 350s and look at some 850s / 900s, although they will make my Xone: 23 look tiny ha.

    First world problems hey...
