Is that a DJM-600 in those pics? Or a 500!

Yeah, so cool I might even frame it for my new place. Denon also has a cool brochure, looks like a whitelabel vinyl

That's a DJM-600. No crossfader curve switch on the 500.

I was working at a gear retailer when the Pioneer rep brought a prototype CDJ-1000 in for us to check out.

Only time I've ever laid my hands on a piece of technology and truly thought "this will change EVERYTHING".

    And it did.

It's such a great looking piece of gear as well.

DJM-600 for sure. As well as the fader curve switch, the fader assignment knob switch has the orange "sampler" label. Funny though, the 600 when first released was only available in the common grayish silver. They released a black one later with orange/gold label.

600 was a good mixer that was the first to allow you to assign the fx to one side of the x-fader. I had an EFX-500 on the send-return and would use its "echo" when scratching a vocal drop. With the fx assigned to the x-fader when you cut the fader back to kill the vocal the echo would still go. Very wicked results!

But... 600 did not sound good at all once it was overdriven even slightly! I am a gain stage preacher and offended many "pegged in the red" players when I tried to coax them down. On the 600 it was very near all the time.
