The Vinyl Chronicles is an ongoing mix series, attempting to showcase my favourite records in a coherent way, each mix leading from the next.

The 8th installment of The Vinyl Chronicles leads of from the chilled UK hiphop at the end of PT 7...
Starting with big vibes from Cinematic Orchestra & Roots Manuva, into downtempo cuts from the likes of Ol' Dirty Bastard and Theo Parrish.
The mood is then lifted with high tempo funk breaks from the London Funk Allstars leading the way into raw funk and original dusty breaks with The Meters - Hand Clapping Song and Eddie Harris.

Then into some funk-laced Afro vibes with a delightful 7" find, Seun Kuti & Felas Egypt 80 bring the tempo back up to some African disco funk from Black Soul, ending on a sublime edit of Gregory Porter - 1960 What?
