Default VCI 400 Driver won't install

I bought a second hand VCI. So I downloaded the newest driver /according vestax.com it is the 1.51 version according heir help 1.62?! WTF/ So i spent the whole night trying to install them. They do say sometimes to have installed - but when i see in the device manager there is always something gone wrong /vestax subdevice/. My OS is win 7 x64. And since i messed it up badly, i am trying today windows 8.1. Any suggestions on something tricky i may be missing.
I plug in usb cable, turn on VCI 400, and start driver installation..., nothing else...

I am using Mixxx on linux. Trying to get the VCI-400 to work as an audio output.
