lol I learned it from my time playing in the southeast US, alot of djs use the term to describe the Pop and EDM masses.

Agreed. I hate the limbo world of being caught as the DJ who gets a groove going with a crowd and the place starts building, only to be ruined by people asking for requests that are completely out of sync/time/groove/place/whatever with what you're playing. F*** i hate sheeple.
