    Default Maschine MK2 or APC40

For anyone here with experience, I would like something that will allow me to stay away from turntables for awhile. I am looking for something that will allow me to play live music in front of my audience.

I have found that Maschine MK and the APC might be good to start off with. Anyone suggestion on my best option?

Also suggest any other instruments if you have anything in mind.

    Thank you in advance.

Well it depends on what you want to do. Fingerdrumming with Maschine would be the closest to an actual live instrument, but you could also use the APC40 for clip launching in Ableton. They're two entirely different beasts, and two entirely different approaches to playing live. If you want something that can do both, maybe take a look at the Novation Launchpad.

Best of luck, hope you find what suits you best.

For the record, Maschine comes with an Ableton mapping to launch clips and you could make a custom one. That being said, if I were to only use Ableton, I'd rather have the APC40 than Maschine.
