SL1210 stops for no reason HELP

Every now and again after I first turn the Off/on to On then hit start is starts fine and plays but as soon as I adjust the pitch the deck stops, I press start again and it's fine. It will work fine until I next turn it on after a period if it being off.

It doesn't always do this just every now and again.

I have heard it could be the chip? Is this true, could some guru help me please, if so which chip?

I'm happy to fix myself once I know what needs changing.

The chip you are talking about is the 'an6682'

Not shure if this is the correct fix but understand that soldering IC's is not the same as soldering to wires...
If you can handle that, it's not expensive to buy...if you have a pair, then you can swap & test (but I would not recomend that).

I have a couple of spare boards that have seen better days. Will try and swop one out and see what happens.
