Default Who rocks the highest quality Technics Mod Refurb/Paint service?

    Hi guys,

I have a pair of very good condition Technics 1210 Mk2's. I'm Uk, London based.
I'm looking to have them fully serviced, resprayed (more than likely in matt black), pitch fader mod to remove the click, RCA Cables and LED lights.
My girlfriends dad is actually a Panel Beater and provides a fantastic respray service for cars. He works with a lot of custom projects, two tone paints etc. I'd love for him to be able to do the paint job but after looking into it, I don't feel comfortable taking them apart and getting them back together myself. Too much risk, especially with the tone arm. Also I feel the proper Technics logo is super important, we have a professional way to include a new original logo in the paintwork so it's smooth. I'm ideally looking for a highly trustworthy team that would take it apart, service and polish all the bits, I can have the main body painted and then they put it back together.

I've been doing some research and Turntable Pimp comes up a lot, I've also seen Technics Pro, anyone in the UK used either of these or know of anyone better?

Taking it apart is pretty easy, it's hard to mess up.

    Just keep the screws organized.

Can't give suggestions about UK stuff though

Depends where in London you are, but The Deck Doctor is London based but will travel a bit (he comes to me on the south coast) for petrol money.

Dont think he gets involved with resprays though, just upgrades and servicing. Does a great job though.

Also, it's worth considering selling yours, and buying some pre-modded decks... Might actually work out cheaper.

If I would mention 3 tech experts

Nicadraus (he's member on this forum)

    Kaype (http://www.12x0.de/index.php?forum)

Patch or Tekki (don't recall but there was another Tech wizard on this forum) ?

Some of the best guys you will find ! (no affiliation at all, just respect)

Ps. from where are you ?
Pss. i agree that selling the nice ones and buying a pair to refurb should be break even at least !
Pss. check the viper frank vids on youtube (best vids in the business)

And final...what you want to do is going to cost a lot in shipping cost, just DIY

Check my SL-thread for more info...

At the minute all the mods and service is looking at around £100 per deck. I want to have my girlfriends dad paint the chassis, I have found a guy who will even have the Technics logo machined back on!

JohnnyDrama, I will look up these three guys, thanks for the tip! I'm in the UK and I know everyone says do it yourself but my turntables mean the world to me and I'd rather just pay a pro to do the assembly/disassembly piece.

    Hi, mate.
I wanted to ask where you got the Technics logo machined back on? I'm from London and looking to get my Technics re-painted. But would love to get the info machined back on after.
