    It of course depends on the use for it - I use compression a lot to do sidechain EQ cutting of the bass range when leaving room for the kick, so it is easiest to just use the built in for that. iZotope's stuff tends to be pretty sweet for non-built-in.

    I use all internal within live, I've only been on ableton for roughly 3 years now and am very comfortable with it. Why switch now unless I come across a .vst is that simply blows what im using out of the water.

    Supercharger is nice and I often use tone boosters barricade (more for limiting) and eaReckon SD comp 87 which I really like. Abletons glue is nice especially to "glue" things together and the normally compressor is also very good IMO.
