    Default What good books or DVD's can i get to learn the art of Dj'ing?

    What good books or DVD's can i get to learn the art of Dj'ing? I want to dive into this thing head first and I want to be a real student of this craft. i want to know is there any good books or dvds for me to begin reading or studying to become a good dj. i know practice is a must but i wanna learn how to do different things.

    books and dvds will take you only so far. in order to really go in, you should find a knowledgeable dj that will show you the ropes and get you going. when i met the guy who showed me the ropes, i progressed MUCH faster because i had someone to bounce ideas off and such.

    I think How to Dj Right is recommended reading for any dj. Im actually going through it for third time now. Good ideas you might not have thought about, although the digital dj stuff isnt very great.

    nope. regular old american with scottish descent.
    how to dj right is a great book. you just need to take the principles and convert them.

    I think once you read the books, go to youtube and watch videos of DJ's that inspire you. I can't tell you how pumped I get everytime I watch Jazzy Jeff beat juggle tracks it gives me the boost everytime to elevate.

    Traktor 3 tutorial dvd is awesome for getting a hang of the functions in traktor, even if you use traktor pro.
