Default So many houses and one techno

Why is it there are so many sub-genres of house but everywhere I look there is one techno?

I guess what I'm trying to say is at my local store, it's all labeled techno whereas house is labeled differently. Look at beatport and they too only have "techno" although I guess if you want to say trance and stuff is techno they do have that.

Any "sub-genre" that says "house" in the title is trendy.

"House" music (well, the trendy kind, anyway) is just one step away from the "EDM" label as far as I'm concerned. "XXX House" music fans are just one step trendier that proclaiming their love for "EDM".

Now, I love me some house music, but, unfortunately, it has become a victim of it's own success...

People that follow trends need labels to know what to buy.

If it's not already a Genre, it should be.

    ...and it's DEFINITELY trendy!

I recently thought about coining the new term Crack House. Not sure what it's gonna sound like, though.

It'll sound amazing the first time you hear it, but over time, you'll want to hear it more and more, until you you get to a point where you don't even care how good or bad it is, you just have to get some.

Eventually, you'll end up a wasted specimin of a raver.

Worst case scenario, Crack House is a gateway genre onto the even more destructive Smack House.
