What's the purpose of that thing above your Denon Controller?

Yep, it's the 'head unit' of the Denon Dual CD deck.. kinda all in one mobile solution. Should something happen with lappy, (very rare) or if I just want to play something off CD, which I would do occasionally. The controller replaced a DN-X500 mixer which used to occupy that space in the rack.

That is a mobile rig done right, like it a lot. Denon user too :-)
